One Year Old!

Karys turned one on Sunday! We can't believe how much she's grown and how much she can do now:

- she walks everywhere all the time

- points, claps, waves, high-fives, pushes buttons

- tries to climb on everything

- says "wow", "uh-oh", "ball", "bubbles", and is trying to say "balloon"

- makes elephant, dog, and cat noises

- points to her mouth, nose, ears, hair, tummy, and toes

- cleans up her toys

- tries to help dress herself

- points to things and asks "s'that?"

- loves to try to brush her hair (I know she doesn't have a ton yet, but at least she has more than I did)
- gives kisses and hugs

- we're getting close to not using a bottle at all!

- whenever there is music she dances and sings

- when asked how old she is she holds her finger up to say "one"

Sorry about the long list, but as my mother-in-law always says "I'm a proud Mama!"

Here are some pictures from her family birthday party. She is having a party with friends on Saturday.

I have to explain that this is a drawing pad with pens you fill with water. It's great!

The party was great. She loved everything and it was wonderful having all the family who live nearby there. I also have to add something another young mom in our Ward said when she found out Karys was turning one: "the first birthday party is really a celebration for the parents on making it through the first year." Sometimes it was a bit rough adjusting to such a big change, but it's been such an amazing experience becoming parents. We are so grateful for Karys and love her so much!
