Montana

Here are some pictures from our visit to my grandparents on the Shammel side in Lewistown, MT this last 4th of July weekend. My grandparents knew that we were coming up, but the rest of my family came down and surprised them as well. It was their 50th Wedding Anniversary in June also (my grandparents on the Mitchell side had theirs too) so we decided to surprise them and celebrate their anniversary. It was a lot of fun and exciting for them to finally meet Karys.

Meeting GrammyLooking at deer in the yard with Grandpa
Visiting the ranch where my mom grew up. Some buildings aren't there anymore of course, and there is a new house there.
Peek-a-boo!
Cottonwood Creek, right by the ranch.
Trying out the water...very cold since it's all snow melt.
Where the lower house used to be. Now there are just some poppies that have spread from the ones my Grammy planted there.
The small barn and sheds next to where the lower house was.
The school house my mom attended for the elementary grades.
Notice the two outhouses?
Swinging with Aunt Amy
Setting off firecrackers.
Me trying to get Cameron to protect his ears from the firecrackers...needless to say they didn't stay on.
Karys watching them set off firecrackers from inside.
A couple of the fireworks :)
We went to visit the local fish hatchery and the source for the town water supply is right by it.
Looking at the spring.
Spring Creek taking the water into town.
I thought these were cute flower boxes.
The bigger fish at the hatchery.
